It seems to be many fossils attesting an evolution from an ape-looking being to what we nowadays look like... Australopithecus, Homo erectus, etc.

Check Lucy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_%28Australopithecus%29

'Strict' Creationists and Evolutionists can put aside their differences for a while, since there is a guy named 'Rael' (founded the raelian sect) that says that aliens inseminated monkeys to create humans... what do you think on that?

To Cloud Strife: Evolution is thought to be a really really slow change... like millions of years or so.

To bRad: maybe science can't answer all questions yet. It's good for people to try to put down what scientists say : a good theory is the one that can't be dismantelled, so this people from your link help science on their own way... the only problem is that I don't like what they offer me: a dogma.

According to the Bible, God created the earth and everthing in it in 6 days and he rested on the 7th. You have to realize that God's time is not our time. 7 days could be 7 catrillion years in our time. From the beginning of time to when the Bible was written, all that history has not been recorded, so dinasours, Nederthals, and Homo Erectus may have existed. A friend of mine believes that humans and apes shared a common ancestor. Then they broke off into apes, gorillas, Neanderthals, Cro-Magnons and all the other species except humans died off because humans were smarter and stronger and we were able to survive our changing world and now exist today as we are.

The common mistake is thinking that every single fossil found has to fit somehow into the human family tree. Some guy explained his theory around twenty years ago and he said that some branches keep going and some just go into an evolutionary cul de sac and eventually end there and it's bye bye for them. If by creation you refer to the Christian Genesis, well, that story goes way back to when humans were actually aware of themselves as such and had evolved enough to actually believe in a higher being, they were not anthropologists, they were not scientists, the ape men just did not enter the picture when Genesis was actually set down on papyrus or parchment or animal skins. If we are made in God's image then it would sound logical if our concept of God evolved parallel to our own evolution from primitive hominids and being very proud of ourselves we find it fitting for our God to be just as evolved since that is the image of him that we want.

IT DOESN'T...

Lucy just looks like an ape that went into extinction, like many other animals that have went into extinction.

That still doesn't mean that man came from ape. They have no idea were the "Thinking Man(Homo erectus)" came from. Or how it would've happened.

Serious, Lucy's just an ape. We are human, and how come there are no other evolved people?

They think we are looking for a "missing" link. Be careful they may ask you about that confounded tree frog or why there are still monkeys. One of them usually asks that once a day or so.

the seven day creationism theory is a metaphor. God is not bound by our time standards and millions of years to a person is unfathomable...so it needed to be worded in a way that humans could understand. For example, we all know that million dollars is a lot of money but how many of us knows what it looks like.

You can't defeat Creationism with logic. The answer is always "God put it there."
