The one I have for my camera just doesn't lock down well enough to hold the scope still.

Go to Orion Telescopes at www.telescope.com and click on "Accessories" and then Tritech Field Tripods or Paragon Professional Field Tripods.

Tritech™ Field Tripods - $59.95

These All-Purpose 'Pods Stand Up to Everyday Use
Not all tripods are created equal. Some can be bulky and heavy, others spindly and unstable. Tritechs are neither- they're just right. They fill the need for portability without sacrificing strength.

From their aluminum, closed-channel legs to their two-way fluid pan head, Tritech tripods are well-suited for almost any viewing or photographic situation. Mount your field glasses, spotting scope, or camera on the quick-release shoe; it locks in tight, with no "play." The elevator crank adjusts the head up or down 12" to the desired height.

The Tritechs' three-section channel legs have an anodized pewter-tone finish and are center-braced to enhance stability. Clamp-style leg locks open and close in a snap (literally). A great value! One-year limited warranty.

Paragon™ Professional Field Tripods - on sale now for $84.95 to $118.95

Designed for Stability and Smooth Panning
The perfect tripod is very stable, strong enough to withstand some serious abuse, and yet moves with fluid smoothness. Our Paragon professional tripods fill the bill, providing heavy-duty support for giant binoculars, cameras, spotting scopes and small telescopes.

The Paragon HD-F2 tripod and the heavier-duty Paragon-Plus XHD are constructed almost exclusively of aluminum, making them stronger at key stress points where other tripods fail. They feature large, adjustable aluminum-tube legs with ridged helical locks. The legs are tri-braced to the center elevator housing for extra stability.

Both tripods come with the same two-way fluid-type pan head. It features tension adjustment knobs on both axes and can be raised or lowered with a hinged hand crank. With quick-release 1/4"-20 dovetail shoe, convertible cushion/spike feet and built-in bubble level. One-year limited warranty
