I am Catholic and I can not undertand why born- agains are so judgemental against other faiths....or the slander against atheists, wiccans, etc. and think they are the ONLY Christians.

I am NOT here to condemn another's belief.......but will try to answer anything pertaining to the Catholic faith.

I also look for the answers of others so I can see their perspective on their philosophy of the world we live in.

Wisdom is seeking knowledge.

Respecting one another is a virtue.

I am not ashamed to follow my Christian doctrine.
I'm stating this question based on those who say they are Christians in disre-guard to other faiths that are Christians.

I couldn't agree more (in theory).....and I am a born again Christian. I do not judge other "Christian" faiths such as yours, Lutherans, Methodists, Seventh Day Adventist or anyone else that believes that Jesus was the Son of God and the Savior of us all. I also do not judge people who have chosen another avenue although I feel badly for them because they will never have the opportunity to have a personal relationship with our Creator or his Son.

I did take note however that you seemed to take a particular pot shot at the so called "born again" Christian. (Quite frankly, I don't have a clue as to how we ever got that name.) ANY Person who has taken God at his word and has made the choice to follow the life example of Jesus is "born again." (Or at least so the Bible says) It simply means making a conscious choice to behave in a way that exemplifies the light of Christ.

I don't think most "born again" people are judgemental of others but I too have run into a few pretend Christians that give Christianity a bad name. It doesn't matter whether someone is a Catholic, Lutheran etc. What matters is that they take their faith seriously and are not merely giving God lip service. If making comments on people who do that is being judgemental, then I guess in that sense, we are. The Bible states clearly that God does not like luke warm believers. To them, Jesus will say "I never knew you"

I hope you will not take my comments as an insult. I too am interested in learning as much as I can. God Bless.

No I am not ashamed. Everyone who calls themselves Christians are not necessarily Christians. I have studied in depth about various religions, there are quite a few who call themselves Christian and are not. I do not condemn any religion but I do condemn some of the teachings of other religions. However I believe that God's people, the true believers can be found in almost every religion. I don't believe in organized religions, I think they are a mixture of truth and lies, the truth makes it sound good, the lies screw up a lot of people. Jesus is my church and those who believe in him are the members of that church, I can go to him anytime, anywhere, he is not a building down the street and the Bible tells me that pure religion is this: Taking care of widows and orphans, how could that possibly be a wrong religion?

No I'm not ashamed to be called a born-again christian. As for slandering, we don't slander other people's faith we simply just state the facts. Example, people worshiping cows or statues, I mean to me that is really stupid and it doesn't make sense. Why worship an animal or statue when there is a living God. A statue made by human hands? Come on. Or a religion were they believe that if you bomb yourself then you will go straight to heaven. To me that is senseless and people just don't see it. Now if I say my views then people think Christians are insensitive and they think they are the only ones saved but it's not true, we're just trying to make you see reason/fact/sense.

And then when you say they bomb themselves then they get angry but they don't look around and notice that it's only their religion that practices that. Or if we say Catholics pray to Mary mother of Jesus (WHICH IS NOT RIGHT) then they get angry but we are speaking facts, no where in the Bible does it say pray to Jesus' mother. No offence but she has no authority to intercede for us, that is what/why Jesus is there, to intercede to us. You are Catholic and I'm sure you will want to kill me just cause of what I said but it's a fact.

Know the truth and the truth shall set you free, read your Bible thoroughly.

No , i'm no longer suprised. i've got confidence a minimum of 80% of those proclaiming they are Christians international at the instant are not real to Christ in God's eyes. it incredibly is a properly-known actuality....biblically.....that for the duration of easy terms few will discover their thank you to heaven. Mt 7:14 yet small is the gate and narrow the line that ends up in existence, and in easy terms some discover it. So anybody else ...who isn't area of the "few" ....won't enter God's heavenly kingdom; they are needless to say no longer Christians in accordance to God.

I am atheist, but anyone who feels ashamed to follow a certain religion should really consider why they became a part of the religion in the first place...

People should just let those who have dissenting opinions be. Everyone has a reason.

Once a person is born-again in Christ, he realises his mistakes/sins and repents and God forgives all his sins, so the sinless feeling might make some people think that they are pure and others are not. But as we grow in this relationship with God, we tend to fall again into sin and ask God to forgive us. Then we realize that just like us even others need their time to turn to God.

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.Joh 14:26.

Holy Spirit is the one who thaught me that I should not condemn others of their faults, because even I have sinned once before God and by only God's grace I am whatever I am.
Our God is surely alive, I have recieved the Holy Spirit and I feel God's presence very much. I encourage you to search the truths and ask God to reveal it to you, than to rely on traditions and cultures, etc ..

I think I understand your question, as I too see a lot of slander on this section.
I often get asked at school if I am Christian.
I say I'm Catholic and I would assume they know then I am Christian, but they don't seem to get it.
But who are we to judge.
I agree with you on respecting others.

When I went to church I was proud to be called a Christian. I try not to find fault with other people's religions as long as I am not being preached to. My mother does enough of that now that she has found God again. I don't know what I believe anymore so I am not sure what I would call myself right now.

God has been very clear and has given us the way to Him in very simple, precise terms - why is it that noone hears Him? Born-again means saved by the blood of Jesus - it is this that "makes" you a Christian (a disciple or follower of Christ). There is no other "Christian" by God's own definition. I respect the value of all people but not all beliefs lead the soul to God's salvation. Shall I respect a "belief," "philosophy," or "religion," that eternally destroys the person for whom Christ died? Would you "respect" the burning building in which your friend sleeps and your friend is in real danger of being killed in the burning building - or would you do everything you could to "wake" your friend before it is too late?
The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom according to God's Word. And "respect" for one another is shown in direct proportion to how much you love their eternal soul.

I am not ashamed to be called a Christian. I am ashamed of people that are so flippant in their zeal to perverse the word of God in order to appease others. If you are a Christian then you know that most unbelievers hate His word because it convicts the heart and soul. We are called to spread His truth despite this fact.
