ok there are these bumps on my sisters legs but we don't know why they are there or what they are. How does she get rid of them? Its not because she is dirty because she takes a bath every morning. Any suggestions?

You very well could have a form of pseudo-folliculitis (a fancy term for inflammation of the hair follicle). I myself get small pimple-like bumps on my chest and back if I am not consistent with my skin care products. Exfoliation is key, but not necessarily manual exfoliation (scrubbing at the skin). You need to use a product that exfoliates as well as hydrates such as something with a medium to high concentration of lactic acid. Lactic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid designed to slough off dead skin while keeping it plump and hydrated. Consistent application (morning and night for a few weeks) will normally produce excellent results. I personally use Environ's DermaLac Lotion and have found it to be one of the only products that work for my type of folliculitis. (Side note: Environ is only available through select physician's offices: Plastic Surgeons/Dermatologists).

Firstly, try exfoliating with exfoliating gloves, if that doesn't work I would go and speak with your doctor. Mine cleared up after exfoliating, but there is a skin condition where the pores become too dry and become inflamed.. There is a name for it but I can't think of it right at this moment... It is a simple treatment with cream.

Good Luck!

it could be ingrown hairs from shaving. she should try to exfoliate her legs really well. salicylic acid also works well for bumps and ingrown hairs because it dissolves the dead skin to let whatevers stuck in there come out.

carly's right, salycic acid is the best (a fancy word for citris acids) helps disolve dead skin right off to get down to the beautiful glow below.

Ingrown hairs. She can use something that sloughs off the skin like a loofah.
