If you haven't already tried a System Restore, then you should perform a System Recovery.

The difference is that a System Recovery will erase any and all programs, files, and data that did not come with the operating system. So make sure you back up to a disk before performing a Recovery.

System Restore won't delete your files, it'll just revert to a previous configuration.

If it were my PC, I'd do the System Recovery. But ask around first, I'm an Intermediate User, someone may have a better solution.

Do you have the MS Office 2003 Standard Edition CD or was it part of your system recovery CD. If you have the media for the software (not the recovery CD), run the setup program from the CD. This should preset you with a "repair" option.
