you say you're tired of being alone and want to meet someone for that reason, but that makes it more likely that someone could take advantage of you, and I don't mean that in a physical way, I mean that you would tend to gloss over wrong or hurtful things the person might do, just so you're not alone again. first you have to be happy with being alone. go out with friends and all, but make sure you have some time to yourself.

Well Aleesha, what sort of guy do you prefer ? I have been single to long as well, But for real- I did date a gal I met online about 10 yrs ago,, we talked along time on the phone before the decision to meet, I think if you go into it with comon sense and think things over before deciding, the situations you encounter- think of it like your making a decision and its your sister in the dating dilemma not you,, then you look at things more cautious when it involves loved ones rather than ourself,
Oh hey Aleesha, lets say your dating a guy for awhile now and things are going great, then say about 4 months into dating he wants to tell you something personel, and your pretty much head over heels for the guy, then suddenly he tells you he is a Crossdresser, Are you open minded and can you stay and be ok with it and not be bothered by this all, or are you narrowminded and cant get away from him and out the door fast enough ? and remember he put his trust in you to be able to tell you that,

There are predators everywhere! In bars....on the net....at the grocery store! Some men and women go to great lengths to fool people into thinking they are someone they are not!
It is just as important to research what are the "red flags"that you have to look for when meeting someone over the internet.
I have heard just as many horror stories as I have heard dreams come true from those who have met people over the net.
I believe that if you just focus on yourself and do things that bring you happiness you will meet the 'one' for you!
What are your interest outside of work? Do you go to plays, concerts, the museum? Art shows, flea markets....there are many things that you can do for free that will present many opportunities to meet someone!
Just be careful..........OK! He's out there....just be patient!
Good Luck!

Yahoo questions and answers, lol, I've been looking for female companionship for more than ten years, just talking to a lady all night and watching the sun rise with her, or walking down the street and holding her hand would mean more to me than sleeping with a million girls, I told that to a lady who asked a similar question as yours, she asked me to e-mail her, and since then we have become the greatest of friends, I've still have not met her personally, but now, I couldn't imagine a day without her. Maybe give it a shot, you never know.

Perhaps you're in a dry spell?

It doesn't matter where you meet the person. It could be on match.com/yahoo personals, coffee shop, bookstore, concert, club, grocery store. If you find someone, get to know them first....Weed out the weridos of course. Pick the ones you really like; let your personality shine! Overtime perhaps you'll find someone great?

Good luck!

Just use your common sense. Talk with them on-line at first, and if they seem normal, then arrange to meet them at a public place, so that they don't know where you live (in case you think that they are crazy).

Meeting at work might not be a really good idea. if they are crazy, then you might get fired.
