I want to write them a letter first of all. But it needs to be long and I don't have very many reasons. Could you give me some? As well as other ways to convince my parents?

Making something longer doesn't make a subject more convincing. You need to focus on the academic areas of the school you WANT, for example

"Rating shows that the teachers at that school have more experience and training for subject quality than the teachers I currently have. I want represent both myself and you, my parents, to the best of my abilities."

OR

"Even though I do Have friends at that school, they are just as academically modivated has I am; they will help me way more than people I currently network with."

FACTS FACTS FACTS! lol.

Just tell them the truth and give them valid reasons why your change, and if it is for your best benefit, I think they'll be more than happy to allow.
