No thank you.

First of all, you should never have a hard time saying no. Remember, if you say yes to something you don't want you're the one who's going to suffer. You're always the one at a disadvantage, so if you don't want something say it.

But then if you do have to say no, reason out and apologize and thank the other person for considering you. A few examples:

1. I'm sorry, but I can't make it to the party tonight, I promised my sister I'll drive for her. Thank you, though for the invite.

2. I don't think I'm qualified to join this contest, but thank you for considering me for it.

3. I've already seen that movie, maybe I can join you next time you watch another movie. Thanks!

Just remember, when you say no or decline on something always be polite and be humble about it. And you'll be fine.

Hey,

Ok i was the exact same way. My friends would ask me to do something and i would come up with a lie or feel forced into saying Yes! AHH i hated it! You have to understand that it is ok to say No! You dont have to tell a person why or feel like they are going to be upset. In the long run you will cause yourself less stress and you wont upset anyone by making false promices! You need to be confident you will feel great once you do get the nerve to say it! it will also come alot easier!

p.s there is no polite way to say no :( it sucks but just dooo it!

All the best Meesa

It's all in the tone of your voice. You can be really sweet saying "No" to the nastiest person.

Think about the question. Does it offend you? If yes, then a Blatant "NO" would be the answer.

Remember, you have a right, too! Not just the person asking the question. All questions are not just "yes" & "no" answers. Also, there are other ways to say "no"...for example:

1. Not now
2. Later, maybe (with emphasis on "MAYBE")
3. Ya, uh...later.....(lol)
4. Say absolutely NOTHING
5. AND, my favorite.....just walk away (or hang up..) whatever the situation calls for.

I sometimes have diffculty with this as well but here are some of my lines:

1. I'm going to have to say no to that
2. Sorry I cant help you
3. I'm not in a position to say yes or no to that right now (I say this mainly as a joke if I think someone is taking the mick)

I have the same exact problem - I have a fear of making people angry or disappointed in me. It depends on what you're saying no about. I have a hard time with saying no to telemarketers!! When someone asks you something, they're either expecting you to say yes or no, so maybe think of it that way. Good luck.

Just say "NO".It's as simple as that.Iv'e learned that if I give a reason as to why I'm saying no most people will try to make it sound like that's not a good enough reason.So just say no when you mean it and leave it at that.Practice saying it to yourself,it get easier and easier every time.

* No, thank you.
* I'm sorry, I must decline.
* I'm afraid that I can't do that/be there.
* Unfortunately, that's just not possible for me right now.
* Thank you for thinking of me. I wish I could go/do that/support that, but unfortunately, I just can't work it into my schedule/budget.
