I think the best way to know is to see if the guy is sharing with you more time than he would for himself like instead of being with friends and showing obviously more concern and a little bit of tender care with you...

You could always just ask.. Or ask his friends if you're too shy to.
Maybe another thing, it may sound discriminative, but 70% of guys have jealousy issues.. Walk by, or go to a social gathering that you know he'll be at with another guy, see the kind of looks he gives you, see if he says anything.. If he seems jealous, he's either jealous of you and gay, or jealous of the boy you brought and wants you.
