I cut myself preparing Valentine's Day flowers at a florist and recieved 3 stiches. I did get a Tetanus vaccine at the ER.

3 days later I had problems eating from a stiff/painfull jaw. This problem is intermitant in severity but always present and eating seams to be a problem.

The injection site is still painfull a week later. and my eye is twitching occasionally.... Are these normal after a tetanus shot?

Thank you...

I think you would be better of going back to the doctors and asking.

You shouldnt seek medical advice from people unless they are suitably qualified!!

If you had a vaccine at the hospital you should be fine. But I would still go to the doctor to make sure because tetanus can be quite painful and serious. If you are not sure with anything about your health always see your doctor.

Tetanus, also known as lockjaw, is a serious but preventable disease that affects the body's muscles and nerves. It typically arises from a skin wound that becomes contaminated by a bacterium called Clostridium tetani, which is often found in soil.

So by going on what you have described, you may have a mild form of Tetanus and i suggest you head straight back to your Doctor Now.
