Yes it is desperate..you are a special person with unique values perhaps hard to find values and for him to expect for you to change YOUR "DEEP INNER CORE UNIQUE VALUES" to try to satisfy him for his inmate selfish needs is to set yourself up for more heartaches in the future. What else more can he expect from you??? and you still have nor guarantee that the relationship would still work. Do yourself a big FAVOR AND LOSE HIM...you deserve better...okay?

I wouldn't give it to him. If he really likes you, he'll stop making up excuses and ask you out when he's ready. Then, after you've been going out a month or two, give him the watch. Yes, it does seem desperate to give it to him right now. If he likes you, he'll make sure you know it. A gift is unnecessary and inappropriate. He's making excuses not to date you so that he can maintain his distance. He's either not ready to date you or he just doesn't really want to date you. Listen to your gut feeling, your intuition.

Girl....

I think you should save that watch. Only girlfriends give their guys watches, but you and him aren't even in a relationship yet

It doesn't seem like he is deserving of gifts if he won't date you. Let the gal who isn't too prudish for him spend her money on him. Buy yourself something nice instead.

if you got him a watch that's kindof proving you are on the "prude" side... if you just got it for no reason..
