For instance, an attack on their religion must mean a direct attack on them, personally. Is that fair?

Hello Morpheus,

Absolutely.

The moment we get serious, it all becomes hard work.

If we could all lighten up and play a more pan-determined game we'd sort this whole mess out.

I know a lot of people that take religion seriously like that. For example, I always badmouth the Mormon church, but I don't badmouth the member, but to them it's the same thing. I keep saying that the church is a business, but the members study religion. They fail to see the separation, and are not allowed to ask questions about it.

I'm not sure. My first inclination was to agree with you....but I don't tolerate jokes about my Jewish culture unless they are from other Jews, or friends. Obviously something like South Park, which insults and offends everyone, doesn't bother me. However...truthfully...I have a Christian friend who made a holocaust comment recently...and it absolutely bothered me. Do I think he wants me dead? No. But I reacted to it in a very negative way.

I think we're all very cavelier when it comes to insulting others, and expecting them to accept it....but we're all a lot more sensitive when it's our goose being cooked.

I'm also a total hypocrite as I often make offensive comments about Christians, Muslims, every race you can think of...etc.

I generally am not as sensitive towards them as I probably expect them to be towards me.

I think people tend to take religion too seriously but you can never take the Word of God or the ministry of Jesus too seriously

Cheers!

Why don't you ask the millions upon millions of people who had their lives cut short after being brutally slaughtered in the name of religion?
Oh wait, they're dead.
It's a seriously harmful disease growing in our society.

How seriously do you think we should take out eternal lives? Do you think that maybe we should even be concerned about yours?

If someone attacks your faith you defend your faith not by abuse but by explaining the mistake
