My boyfriend told me he heard a story on the radio about a baby born today or sometime recently at around 22 or so weeks, that measured 9 inches. He didn't hear any of the other details.

Did anyone hear about that, and can you tell me what the story really is?

I believe you are talking about the little girl that had to be taken by C section at just 21 weeks in Florida. She is 4 1/2 pounds now, and I "think" I read yesterday that she is finally going home. The pictures that they originally took of her had a ball point pen next to her to show how small she was. The miracle of it all, is that she survived, and with lung issues, etc., has made progress and physcial growth, and is strong enough to go home. She also was conceived via in vetro, that is how they knew how old she was.

I tried googling it, the smalled I found was 11 inches and that was in august of last year. If you type in premie 22 weeks 9 inches some interesting premie sites come up.

I just saw that on the news. They said it was the earliest known for a baby to survive. He weighed 10 oz. I think. Here is the article and a picture: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21256600-401,00.html
