This might sound like a stupid question, but when I was younger I would always have bladder infections and I was also molested around the same time but there was no penetration but could that have caused them?

Yes, getting a UTI from having sex is more common then you would think. A UTI can lead to a bladder infection and work its way further up if untreated (possibly to the kidneys) If you were molested even without penetration dirt and germs were rubbed around in that area very well could have caused the problem

Honey that is NEVER stupid question.. and yes,even though there was no penetration you could get a bladder infection from dirty hands or any dirty objects. The germs traveled up through your urethra and that's what caused your bladder infections.

Yes it could. Dirt and germs from unclean hands (or other parts) can travel through the urethra and cause an infection.

Oh and for the first poster....the kidneys and the bladder are two DIFFERENT organs of the body!

Yes it is possible, however, there are several different factors that could lead to a bladder infection. Bacteria can be spread simply from wiping improperly....ie back to front

no a bladder infection would be caused more from not drinking enough fluid (water) to flush out your kidneys
