Correction. It's a theory that when Jesus faded away from society to become educated, he was taught by travailing Buddhists along side other religious and spiritual leaders.

Just because one practices a few elements from a different spiritual path, doesn't make them apart of it. Jesus was a Jew.

There are certainly a lot of correlations between what Jesus taught (if we are to believe that Jesus truly existed, and if what survives as being his words --- points on which there is much conjecture and more than a little doubt) and what Buddha taught.

A wonderful book is 'Living Buddha, Living Christ' by Thich Nhat Hanh. A very compassionate, loving book.

One thing I like to remember is that Christianity is, for all intents and purposes, a middle-eastern religion.

No. The Bible was written in the aramaic script. Therefore this script pertains to areas around the Mediterranean. Had the Bible been first written in Sanskrit, we could have an argument of the nature you have brought up. But not with the Bible having been written in Greek and Aramaic scripts. So your argument fails at the outset. Jesus was not a Buddhist. Jesus was born a Jew. Jesus is the Son of God.

Yes, a Buddhist is anyone who seeks to become a Buddha (An enlightened being). Jesus of Nazareth was definately enlightened. He most likely did not steal anything from Siddhartha Gautama, he just had the same experience...

that has to be the stupidest question I've heard in a while. of course he wasn't buddhist. Buddha was in search of the truth, but never found it. Christ didn't search for the truth, he is the Truth.

and Jesus didn't copy any buddhist doctrines. do you honestly think Buddha spoke of Christ's death, assention, journey to hell and back, etc? or how Jesus said not to look at porn, or how God's Spirit could now reside in you? How about Jesus' teachings that religion (practices associated with a deity) should be done away with to usher in a new era, where we can know God personally.

There was a book excluded from the Bible, that tell of a story that Jesus studied Buddhism when he was younger. I think he just valued the beliefs. He spoke out against religion, he was more for relationship with God.

Well, dude, when you don't capitalize Jesus you are talking about some stoop laborer in California, not the Son of God, so he could be a Buddhist.

There are similarities between every religion, which is no surprise. So the accusation "stolen" does not apply.
