Religion is a touchy topic, but I feel, while all its meant to do is good, it has had the opposite affect on the world. Many of the wars are religion based, but I'd like to hear what you guys have to say about this. The question is vague so feel free to interpret it in whatever sense.

I think people are responsible for the current state of the world.

People are people, with or without religion.

Say all the worlds religions were banned. People would find something else in it's place to fight about, feel superior about and what not.

No, greed is responsible for the most of the tragedy in the world. Religion does a lot more good than it does bad and I believe it is sometimes used as a tool by the corrupt. Take America today for example. I don't think that American's would send their children to die in a war being waged because we want to have the oil and money that our leaders think they can get out of the middle east - but if the media makes it seem like a religious war, then our faithful citizens will send their children to defend the honor of their savior. Even the Jews were persecuted by Hitler originally because that sector seemed to be the only ones prospering at that time in Germany - greed, not religion (and then of course ultimately insanity).

Peace!

No I don't believe religion is responsible for the current state of the world. I think humans are. We have fallen so far away from God and his teachings that the problems we are having now is the result of it. You are wrong in your beliefs about the reason for many wars. The Civil War was about the South wanting to keep their slaves and the North being against it. The Vietnam war was about communism. The war in the Middle East is religious based, but it is also about the small bands of people who don't want the US to interfer in their affairs.
Government is the cause of most wars I think.

Yes... I would say that it plays a critical role in many aspects. A lot of wars are due to religion and it is a major reason many people don't get a long (religious differences). Also, religion today seems to focus more on agreeing over doctrine than actually doing what is right in life.

Wars are started by people who use whatever tool they can find.

We are all responsible for the state of planet earth. Acts of omission or commission by each one of us cause and perpetuate the state our world is in.

There is something called: The Third Party Rule. For any fight, upset, argument or war to occur there is without fail a third party involved.

Go to www.scientology.org and check out the info on this. You may even resolve some upset you've seen occur around you.

Yes, if you're referring to the islamic religion.

Today, the only militants in this world (99.999%) are muslims.

So, yes, islam is responsible for the current mess and chaos of this world. If not because islam is a major religion, it would have been bannned! across the globe after having killed so many thousands of innocent lives.

Actually, what islamists have done is no different from what the japanese cult did by gassing the japanese in tokyo tunnel. The only difference is, the *** cult can be banned straight off, but islam must be slowly removed.

Of course it is. The middle east is all about religious factions, and they hate Christians, which many Americans are.

Religion is most of it, uneducated people are a big part of the problem too.

everyone forgets the other side of the coin.......Lucifer himself.

his goal is for all to hate religion so he can have his way. over the yrs religion has slipped away more and more....and what have we seen as a result? more and more chaos.

you be the judge.

People seem to be using religion to their own advantage. They are misinterpreting it on purpose. Very dangerous.

absolutely.
where ever there is conflict you can trace it back to people being to damn fanatical about their religious fantasy and not accepting anyone who doesn't conform.
sect called the brethren comes to mind, as an example.
why can't people just be people, and be nice just cause it's nice to be nice, not just so you can be 'rewarded' when you die
