Some aren't ready, some think there is always something better just around the corner and they don't want to wind up with second best, some get scared off by girls they find too forward or aggressive, some have been hurt and are afraid to get burned again.

For the same reasons that some women don't want committment. Maybe they just got out a relationship and don't want to rush it. Maybe your definition of committment is different than their and in their minds they are committed. Maybe they're not that interested in u and only string u alone to maintain a sort of stability while they go out frequent dates with another person. If by committment u mean marriage, then maybe the person isn't ready or just doesn't want to get married. In the case that they don't want to get married then it's not about not wanting committment it's just that they've made a conscious unbending decision for whatever reason. There are many more reasons. I think that men generally have more committment issues because of the roles and attitudes that society puts on them. U have to remember that society expects men to be the ones who go pursue the woman so there is a desire to make sure that u have found the perfect person before u "settle down." Society generally expects women to be pursued and to be willing to settle down once the man has proven that he is dedicated to her. Basically women are thought to always be WAITING for prince charming while men are trying to FIND that special person. Really there is no true difference. The reasons above could go either way. Hope it helped.

The benefits of not committing out-weigh the benefits of committing maybe. If a guy is getting everything he wants being single, he wont have much motivation to commit unless such a commitment seemed better than staying single.

Because they actually think they aren't right for you.

They think they aren't ready for a relationship (or you are, for that matter.)

They just don't like you in that way.

They think you'll hold them back (or they'll hold you back)

Just various suggestions- most of them are stupid excuses if you think about it, but men just need the excuses, not good ones.
