Some like Gatorade or those trashy fruit punches are loaded with food colorings to make them look attractive to kids. The coloring is probably coloring not just your mouth but all the way down your digestive system right down to your butt. Now that is a thought that should keep you from sleeping tonight.

because of the amount of artificial colouring in them. you're painting your mouth.
if you mean it turns a different colour than the drink is, the colour would probably be an additive used to make the colour of the drink, which would be used heavily because it's stronger than the actual colour

i hope that even made sense.

drinks that leave colour in your mouth have dyes in them - either man made or natural.
eg - orange pop will make your mouth orange because it has orange food colouring which is a dye
orange juice will not make your mouth orange because there is not dye in it (or very very little)

pure pomegranate or blueberrie juice will leave colour because they have natural dyes in them
white grape will not

etc..
now go to bed and sleep well!
