I gave this guy I had my eye on my number but he never called. But then when I went back to the store he works at a week later, and I tried to avoid him, he started a conversation with me...twice. so is he interested in me? Or what? if he is, why didn't he call, and if he isn't, why did he go out of his way to try and start a conversation. One of the convos was about my shirt and one was about a show he wanted to know if I was going to.

he may be too nervous to ring you and feels more comfortable when you are in public. Ask him out to a movie or something.

Hi Kate,
Your question is right out of my past! That happened to me, too.
I was working in a pet store when I saw her enter the store. We
started talking about how to care for budgies, and other "things"
came up. We traded phone numbers, just like you did. But at my
house, I couldn't call her because my family NEVER gave me
any privacy--never could be alone. So, I could only talk to her if
and when she came into my store. I liked her a lot, so the next
time I saw her, I asked her to a picnic in the city park. To make
a long story short, we were married a year later. Your guy may
have a similar problem, so give him the benefit of the doubt, and
call him (or go see him) to ask him out. Who knows, maybe in
about another year..........!? Good Luck, Kate.

sounds like he's shy, but interested. i say you ask him out, or if that's too big a step then ask for his number. then when you call him, that'll really cue him in that you're interested, and maybe give him the nerve to ask you out.
