Me and my bf went out for about 5 months, and in the beginning we talked a bunch, but towards the end we didn't talk as much because he was getting tired and busy with school and other activities. Then he told me he was breaking up with me because he was too busy, but never lost interest? Is this an excuse/lie?

Heard that one before. Didn't want to hurt you or give a long explanation, but he is finished with the relationship. Have pride in yourself and don't call him again - there is a book out there that tells you that if he doesn't call, he is NOT interested! If you really love someone, you MAKE time to see them, you don't dump them. Even the busiest people can find half an hour a day for someone they love, let's be real!

It's possible he was just looking for an easy way to get out, cuz he didn't like you anymore, or he found someone else, or he likes the single life......

But being busy all the time is sort of a good reason not to have a girlfriend or boyfriend, but I don't think it's a good reason to break up with someone unless they didnt' like you that much to start with.

I think it would be an excuse, if he wanted you, he'd make time. The novelity is wearing off, that's why. Just let go and move on.

He wants to finish with you, but does not want to hurt you, so thats the excuse he hopes you will accept, if he wanted to be with you he would make time for you.
