No but let her learn to Eat only when hungry. No more than three meals a day unless diabetic. Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

if she was born in 1997, and weighs 70 pounds and 4feet 9inches as of january, she is at an average weight. if she grows to 4'11" she will be slightly underweight. so it might be better to monitor her weight and height for a while. when she grows 2 inches she should gain 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound. it would also be best to talk with a pediatrician or doctor to give you the best advice.

no. most likely she is not but the only way to tell is if she looks like it. BMI calculators will NOT be accurate for a 9 year old. They are meant for adults. According to BMI, 4'9 and 70lbs would be underweight for an adult female but since adults and children are built very didfferently a 9 year old who is 70lbs is normal. If you are concerned, ask her pediatrician.

I wouldn't call her fat. My daughter is ten and is4 ft. 11 at 68 lbs. You just need to keep an eye on it. Alot of kids do this. My sister all through elementary and most of high school was kind of chubby, now she looks real skinny and she can still eat a whole pizza. Keep her as active as you can, she'll be fine

Good answer...
anyways look up the BMI (body mass index) chart. Doctors use this to determine obesity rates in children and is not too difficult to calculate.

Jessica that site does not include age, which is a dependent factor here. Go to this website, I just entered in her stats and she is a healthy weight. http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html

Well to me it sound like a reasonable weight for her. But if you are really that worried I would get her a check up. Then ask the doctor if her weight is appropriate for her age and shape. I can't see her so it is really your choice.
