My friend told me this joke a few days ago.
There was a town of all Catholics, except for one man. Every Friday during Lent, when all Catholics would be fasting, the smell of burning meat would linger in the town. This one man, who was a Baptist, was grilling meat outside on his barbaque pit. One Friday, a few of his Catholic neighbors complained to the local pastor about this problem. The pastor agreed to a solution to this problem. That Sunday, he baptised the man, saying, "You were born a Batist, you were raised a Baptist, but I now pronounce you a Catholic." Thinking that their problem was solved, the townspeople thought that this Friday, no meat would be cooked. But it was not to be so. That Friday, the smell of burning meat was heavy in the air. The pastor, discovering the mistake in the man's judgment, went to his house to lecture him. As the pastor walked into his backyard, he heard the man say, "You were born a deer, you were raised a deer, but I now pronouce you a fish."
