I finally asked him (through a text) if he has a chick because I thought it was weird how he never calls and only texts me. He said that no he doesn't have a girl but that's just how he talks to his friends simply because he feels he can talk better that way. Every month he uses about 9000 texts. He also said he gets nervous on the phone like he has with me on the few times we have spoken on the phone. I mean we have hung out a few times and it's never awkward we get along super awesome and on the phone too we just talk and talk, but i do notice that on the phone and in person he does seem jittery at first, but once he gets comfortable around me he is fine. He's the one who wanted to know me (he did it through his friend at that, and even she told me he was shy). I don't get how a dude can be so shy to only text me every night, hardly ever asks me to hang out, and never calls. What's up with him if he doesn't have a girlfriend, can he really be that shy?

In all honesty,I'd say that yes,he is hiding something from you. Does he contact you much at weekends? If he does text you during the weekends-does he say he's 'out with the guys'? What does he tell you about his day to day life? The times you've hung out, have you been introduced to anybody by him?
I know a guy with a girlfriend-and he's got 'text relationships' going. He sees it as a bit of fun-nothing more.

Been with a guy's who's like this. At first I accept it, but later it starts to annoy me because texting alone will not develop the relationship, but it will just make you wonder and wonder what is actually happening in his life. So if you are looking at him as a potential boyfriend, then I suggest either you don't or let him know you are more comfortable meeting him or talking on the phone. Good luck.

Some people are more comfortable communicating by text, im, or even emails, than by phone or in person. If he is one of those, don't old it against him.
