I am a women with hep c and my husband and I have been married for 5 1/2 years our doctor does periodic checks of his liver enzymes and he has not contracted it. However, if one was to have sex during period then there is a greater chance that the blood could enter the uthera (hole in end of penis) thus resulting in Hep c infection.

Guru is correct - although Hepatitis C is not considered an STD. It requires that the infected persons blood enter your blood stream somehow. Syphilis is curable with penecillin. There is a vaccine for hep B, but not one for Hep C (which more than likely you will NOT catch from sex). Wear a condom anyway... And no 360 - there is no vaccine for HIV that is 30% effective - out on the market yet. That recent news hubub was saying that researchers have found a combination of two vaccines have the ability to be effective up to 30%, but this has not yet been approved or fully tested yet...

NO..Hep C is rarely transmitted through sex,,My husband just discovered he has it, and we've been married 7 years....Hep C is transmitted through blood to blood contact,,if sex was ruff and there was tearing of the skin on both parts then maybe,,but normal sex without condom will not transmit hep c,,as I'am negative for that..if that were the case then I would be positive as well....so don't worry,,but the doctors say to use a condom just to be on the safe side,,,after finding out partner is positive...the information given says that rarely through normal sex,,,but if it male to male sex then the chances are high, as the anal sex usually tears the skin for both,,so beware if that is the case here..

I'm pretty sure that Hep A&B can be transmitted through fluid exchange, but hep C is only transmittable though blood (from memory). Hep C is prevalent amont tattooed persons and in the gaols (jails) from needle sharing. Hope that helps...

you can get ANY kind of disease from someone if you dont use a condom, because bodily fluids will be exchanged, so why take the chance?i think hepatitis is a blood disease so you would be more at risk by having it in the back door, but you cant rule anything out, so be safe and ALWAYS use a condom.

Okay - close your eyes and imagine doing it with this person!

Yup, that's about as safe as you can get!

Don't risk your life for sex - it (really) ain't worth it!

Use a safe and have at least a little protection! Better yet, find someone worth being with (no offence).

Choose your partner wisely!
