There's no standard number, it varies between manufactures. As few as 360, as many as 1,007. Some (like the new Top-Flites) had dimples in the dimples, crazy!

varies, the most played balls by professionals, pro v1 and 1x, srixon , taylor made, bridgestone and callaway hx balls have around 330 to 420 dimples, less dimples now being more popular on newer balls...also very thin covers, which with the other construction specifics helps to create spin off irons for control around the greens...
