You mean the real facts as opposed to the made up facts?
Digging for the truth showed that by DNA there is no way a woman from the middle east could have been the ancestor of a woman in France.
The Last supper painting had 12 disciples. If John was really Mary, where was John?
The society that Dan Brown used was made up a few years before he wrote his book not near as long as he said.

there is no fact behind the da vinci code.. if ya want the real story read the Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. This book came out in the 80's I believe (maybe late 70's) well before the da vinci code. It tell the same story as the da vinci code but in mock history book fashion. These two guys one of which first start his hunt for the holy grail on a BBC tv show believe they uncovered a huge cover up that actually Jesus was married and had children and his descendants are still alive today.. blah blah blah.. God there book is so boring and filled with supposed facts that no one else can seem to prove that it sold lots of copies but just was not written for the general public...way to complicated in its format.. Good old Dan Brown changed their story into a really catchy book that everyone could understand.. (as said before it is almost exactly what authors of Holy Blood and Grail wrote but much more fun to read.)
There is very little fact behind either of the books mentioned above as a little research into the ideas presented reveals..

It is a pure lie. I saw Satan writing the book. It is nothing. Just a fiction. It is there to confuse the people. It distorted the bible. I never plan to watch the movie nor read the code. It is utterly disgusting. They better show the life and works (paintings) of Leonardo da Vinci.

This is a reaction to Jan P's answer:
I saw that digging for truth episode. It was laughable. It was obvious that he started from a foregone conclusion and then only looked at "evidence" that supported it. I'm not saying that the supposition of the Da Vinci Code was correct... but this episode of Digging made me swear off the show entirely.

The DaVinci code is pure fiction. Dan Brown is neither an historian nor a theologian. There is nothing in it worthy of calling truth.
Fact: Jesus never married nor had any sort of relation aside from friendship with Mary Magdalene.
Fact: They did not have a child
Fact: There is no holy grail.
It is utter nonsense and contains so many inaccuracies and out right lies, that space does not permit to detail them all.

LOL! "The Da Vinci Code" is fiction. i wish you're no longer implying that some human beings have faith it as actuality. then lower back, the Bible is fiction besides, and a lot of human beings nevertheless have faith in it, even to the factor of ignoring valid medical data!

Zero that has been proven. Athough I thought the book was a good work of fiction. The movie, I could have done without though, and I thought Tom Hanks was a lousy choice for the lead character.

* The book and movie is fiction. No facts behind it, but early Christians were divided on many things one of the things was whether or not Jesus married Mary Magdelene and had children and whether or not he was devine. That is why Constitine appointed the men of the concil of Nicea.*

The fact is that the book is fiction. You may as well ask what is the fact behind Harry Potter.
