It's okay if that's what you choose...but exercise will speed up you weight loss. Don't over estimate your daily exercise...walking to classes etc. You need to get your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 20 minutes. When you walk to class, walk quickly. Park far away from the school and make your walk a brisk one to the building.
Exercise helps because as you lose weight you'll be motivated to continue, so the more you lose and the faster you lose the better.
Good luck

It's okay if you really feel like you are out of shape, but you might end up never starting exercise. It's better to start now than never feel like doing it later. You don't have to run 10 miles the first day, just walk half a mile or so. Or do jumping jacks in 1 to 2 minute intervals. And then gradually increase according to what's challenging and how much time you have.
When you're walking to class, make sure you have some extra time. Then instead of taking a shortcut or your normal route, take the long route. Walking is an excellent form of exercise
As for how much you will lose, well that just depends on your metabolism and how much muscle you have. There are plenty of sites out there with information on this.
When I went on a 1200 calorie diet, I lost weight very quickly, but then the weight loss begins to slow down, so that's when you might want to amp up the exercise.

It's always good to couple a good diet with exercise. But if you don't want to work out right away, doing toning exercises would be good because they're not as hard on your body as aerobics and adding extra muscle tone will help you burn the calories while at rest.

better to start off slowly. If you add a lot of exercise along with a drastic diet change, chances are you'll fall of the wagon. Do a little more each week so you can make each step a habit....even with a short term goal, you need to remember the long haul.

Walking is not exercise. Parking further from the door, using the stairs, and doing little sit-ups in your desk at work are not exercise. You have to exercise at high intensity to really see gains in your health. One exception, people that are really really out of shape, could get that intensity by parking further from the mall, but you can't. High intensity for 15 to 20 minutes in the morning is all you need.

It just depends on how long you want to drag this "weight-loss" thing out. You want to see how close to the June "deadline" you can go, and worry about it all and whine and wail about it all? Wait all you want. You want to get the job done, get off your fat asss and get to exercising!! And if you think I'm being tough on you, just realize, I practice what I preach, vigorously, so don't think I'm giving you any preferential treatment. God Bless you.

Loosing weight is mostly about eating less, and hopefully better. Don't do any tremendous things, but do get a bit of exercise. Walk a couple of blocks, and then gradually speed up a bit,. and go a little farther.
