As a bachelor, I don't usually keep Peanut Butter around but, for some reason, I now have a craving for some and will buy some tomorrow.
I'm thinking of getting Skippy Smooth (since Jiffy has that samonella scare and recall).

My question:
What should I buy to go with the Peanut Butter...
what's the best cracker?
Yes, I might get some bread and jelly for PB&J but, I'd like to just spread some PB on a cracker.
What are your suggestions?

Peter Pan had the salmonella scare

I would buy celery, green apples, pretzels and maybe water crackers or gourmet wheat crackers or graham crackers.

Also a great snack is to toast a piece of white bread (wonder) and put peanut butter on it and then put honey on it too, it is soooo good. A little messy, but worth it.

I would try getting Nutella too, it's a chocolate and hazelnut spread that you could add to peanut butter sandwhiches. They make this other spread too, I think its fluffer nutter or something I that is like a marshmallow spread that you could put in a peanut sandwhich too.

Or how about Elvis Prestley's favorite, grilled peanut butter and banana sandwhiches, they're good to

For jelly I would get Welch's grape squeeze bottle jelly.

I can't believe how much I just wrote for peanut butter!

Vinta crackers by Dare. Also, buy a peanut butter that needs to be refrigerated once it's opened, one whose only ingredient is--you guessed it--peanuts. I'm not sure what brands of this type of peanut butter you may have in your area. Mine is Golden Boy (crunchy). It has no added salt, sugar, oils or preservatives. I must agree that you should combine your peanut butter with a little bit of Nutella for a special treat. I've been adding Nutella to my pb on occasion since I was about 15 (and am now 34). Another nice combo is with blueberry or mixed berry jam.
An extra special treat is dark (70% cocoa) chocolate dipped into the jar of peanut butter. Yum.
I grew up eating grilled peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast (done in the toaster oven), and I've gotta tell ya, that's a good start to the day (with a glass of chocolate milk!).

It was Peter Pan and Great Value that were linked to the salmonella issue - and of those, only the ones with the code on the lid that started with 2111. Most of the tainted jars went out on the market as early as last May, so the scare is not over and people are still getting sick with salmonella caused by the tainted jars of peanut butter.

While the CDC has not linked Great Value directly to any of the cases of illness, the ones that are marked on the lid with 2111 were manufactured in the same plant as Peter Pan and may have come into contact with the same machinery. Also, those jars of peanut butter NOT made by the ConAgra company are deemed safe for use.

There is no peanut butter called "Jiffy." It is "Jiff." "Jiffy" refers to a brand of cake and muffin mixes that come in a box.

Having said all that, there are a number of things you can do with peanut butter that your other responders missed - primarily that peanut butter is extensively used in restaurants as a thickener for soups and chilis. You can add a tablespoon of peanut butter to about 4 ounces of cooked rice for a little extra flavor. Just about any cracker will host peanut butter with unequaled flair.

For a heavenly sandwich, toast two slices of bread, spread peanut butter on one and jelly or marshmallow creme on the other - put them together and enjoy a really unique toasted sandwich that goes very well with a cup of hot cocoa.

I thought that was Peter Pan brand with the samonella scare.

Either way get some Skippy. Go with some saltines. Ritz are too damn buttery for peanut butter. Saltines are great cause they are sturdy enough for your spreading and work well with your PB, don't overpower your peanut butter taste.

You should also get some apples and celery, they taste great with peanut butter. Oh and I thought it was peter pan peanut butter that had the recall not Jiffy. And if it is jiffy I need to go empty my pantry.

Enjoy Your Peanut Butter~

I put my vote in for Ritz crackers, though Townhouse are almost as good.

I also like monkey sandwiches; they are sandwiches made with peanut butter, marshmallow whip and a sliced ripe (soft but not mushy) banana. Also, peanut butter and raisin sandwich.

Ants on a log--celery filled with peanut butter with a line of raisins (ants).

Apples, bananas and celery are all good smeared with peanut butter. I've tried peanut butter on pears, but they're just okay, not anything to rave about.

Peanut butter s'mores. Add a smear of peanut butter to one half of your graham cracker, put the piece of chocolate bar on that, then top with your toasted marshmallow. Messy, but good. But then, s'mores are already messy, so no big deal, right?

oh my god its all about nutella...
its a chocolate hazelnut spread, its becoming really famous actually haha .. its so good

as long as your buying spreads, get this one while your at it
all u have to do is spread it on toasted bread and if you want, add a little whipped cream and strawberries... SOO GOOD

and for crackers, if you want crackers and cheese, get club crackers by keebler
if you want one for the peanut butter, get the original Ritz crackers

with peanut butter, bananas taste really good. So do bagels, and obviously PB&J.

yes, i love all desserts!

Yum, peanut butter. I like eating peanut butter with UNSALTED saltines; peanut butter tastes better without the saltiness of regular saltines. However, if you think you might like it, try buying the salted kind; you can always brush off the salt on the top.

When I don't have saltines on hand, I eat Ritz. The peanut butter goes well with the "butteriness and flakiness" of Ritz.

Graham Crackers, You can also top those with rainbow chip icing and it's delicious. Another great way to enjoy peanut butter is on a spoon dipped into Lucky Charms Cereal. Bon Appetite!
