*Gods speak to people all the time, but if you god tells you that the world is going to end soon, or to hurt someone or to go around pestering people by telling them how to live their lives, then you need to seek therapy.*

If the words you are getting is consistent to the word of God then rejoice because you are being given the gift of prophecy. When I pray it's not just me talking to God he talks to me as well. Most of the time showing me where in the Bible to to find what He wants me to hear. But there have been time when I was sure that an audible voice explained a teaching I really needed to hear. Make sure that this is not just your own will, or an evil presence. Do that by study of what He has already explained to us in His word... Jim

If you belong to a major (accepted) religion, they you are spiritual....on the other hand, if you dont belong to any of the major religions start proclaiming your words from GOD, they call you CRAZY and if you persevere and survived the flak, they you a CULT LEADER and not crazy anymore..
Just remembered the Taiwanese man in Texas who had a 500 members following for his 'God came to the Earth in Fyling Saucer' cult..lol

It can be a blessing just for you...But do be aware that sometimes it may be just our own plain thoughts that makes us want to believe that it actually the very words from The Almighty...And according to my belief, God won't talk to us by saying anything, he'll say it through representations or a metaphor that will occur in front of our very eyes...And also do bear in mind that Satan and his clans will stop at nothing to ensure the decreasing amount of our loyalty to God, and whispering to us is one of their definite ways...

It does not make you crazy. God speaks to all of us. It is just up to us to recognize His voice. Be still and quiet and listen to what the Lord has to say. God Bless

I thought I was crazy for quite awhile, kept real quiet about it. Prayed a lot. I don't worry about it anymore, I know who I am. Everything and everyone I would worry about is taken care of. I'm not crazy, I am in service to my Father.

It's wonderful; you're not out of your mind.
Have you told your pastor or anyone exactly what he said and confirmed that it's from God? Remember, He speaks to your heart not your head.
God bless!

No, it depends how He speaks to you. In my experience God speaks to me by answering my prayers, not 'verbally' so. If people hear voices from God, I think they 'aren't' from God, as He doesn't reveal himself that way in this day and age. At least I haven't been 'blessed' with His voice yet just with 'answered prayer'.

It depends on the nature of the message. Did He ask you to invade Iraq or wage spiritual war in the name of oil?

It really kind of depends on what is being said. If it sounds rational, lifts your spirit, fills you with love, comfort, hope, faith and peace then it is spiritual.
However, if it is a voice telling you to kill yourself, neighbors, friends, family, strangers or cause physical or emotional harm to yourself and/or others, that is not a voice of God but of insanity.
There is fine line between the divine and insane.
