My sisters fiance is constantly mean to our cat. He isn't down right cruel to the cat, because I wouldn't allow it. A few minutes ago he was shaking the cat, and my mom said that it was bad for that cat, that it would scramble the cats brains. I was wondering if this is true, because my sisters fiance says it isn't, but my mom says it is. Just wondering, thanks.

I think your mom needs to throw this abusive jerk out of her house and tell him not to come back. This is a BIG warning sign and your sister better heed it. Abusive men mistreat animals first, then go for the women in their lives. She's next. I have a lot of experience with this and she better get smart.

I love my animals and if anyone every did that to my cat, he'd be a soprano when I got through with him.

Ever heard of shaken baby syndrome. Give your sister's fiance a shake (a good hard one) and don't let him touch the cat again. In fact be adamant about him not touching the cat, to the point of physically taking it off of him should he touch it.
Personally I'd tell my sister to watch out for this one.

Your sisters fiance is a FREAKING IDIOT! Tell him to piss off and leave the cat the hell alone!
Ask this pea brain how HE would like it if somebody picked HIM up and shook the SH1T out of HIM! Imagine how this mental midget is going to treat a baby, if, God forbid, he has one - the mind boggles.
When any animal is shaken violently its brain crashes around inside its skull and serious damage can result.
I really wish I knew where you lived, so that I could come and give him a LARGE dose of whoopass the next time he tries to hurt the cat!

Every answer here is something you had better take for Gospel.

Your cat will get brain damaged.

My very best suggestion I can tell you is, hopefully your sister doesn't marry this guy because if he does this to cats then he will do it to her. He is an abusive person and it will come out someday.

Get him out of your house and our of your cat's life.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!!! Ok, being mean to a poor kitty is terrible and says a lot about his character, but what kind of person does that?? Your sister needs to question her engagment to this man, because if he can shake a little cat, imagine what he could do to a baby if he is fustrated. WHAT A LOOOOSER HE IS!!!! I hope that cat scratches his eyes out!!!

Next time you see him do that or even handle your cat, tell him you will report him for animal cruelty. He has no right to man-handle any of your pets. And your mom is right - the cat could get seriously injured by being shaken like that. In fact, the cat can die.

Yes, it is ABUSE! It can cause medical problems. Why would you allow anyone to mistreat your cat like that? You need to find a home for the kitty if you are not willing to protect it. Just think of it as a defenseless child. Would you allow someone to shake your child like that? Then do not allow them to do that to your cat.

At the very least it's cruelty. I think you should have a talk with your sister. Tell her you don't want her fiance to shake the cat anymore. Petting is fine. Just no shaking.

Ask yourself this, "Would YOU like that?" if the answer is NO, then neither does the cat. Instead of listening to them argue about it, tell them to knock that off. If he is that cruel to your cat, I wonder how he will treat your sister. He needs his *** kicked and so do they for allowing this behaviour!
