The surefire way is to start a bank account as early as possible with 6 months to year of good banking you can request a small secured Creditcard off of your atm card or a small line of credit . Once you have 12 months of credit filing you will not be able to stop the offers as long as you have good history .

Be sure to keep your debt to income ratio below 25% .
Only use your card for emergencies
Pay on day 25 - 30
Pay at least 10% on the balance - do not pay off too quickly the banks will raise your % in most cases.
lastly do not charge more than 45 % of your balance .
