This may sound strange but I am sure I had an out of body experience when I was 7 years yold I am now 36 and I remember it like it was yesterday. My dad had a contract to work in the copper mines in Africa and took us along. Well anyway I contracted Malaria and became very ill I remember lying in bed feeling very sick and began vomiting until I passed out then all of a sudden I was in the back of my dads landrover which had open back and we were driving home then all of a sudden he veered off the road and went uphill into a forrest (which was beautiful) below us the water was dirty muddy brown the further we went the clearer the water became until it was like crystal blue and the forest was lush and green there was a man standing next to a tree watching me and as I looked at the more curious I became the more loved I felt he beckoned me to him and I wanted to go with him I felt so loved and cared for but I couldn't. Do you think it was a dream I have often wondered about this.

i dont know, but i believe that i once had an out of body experience while in high school. every morning my group of friends would stand in a small alcove with a tiny staircase in it. they day i had it, i was standing next to my best friend, but my view was from the top of the staircase and i could see myself. it was very creepy and i also often wonder if it was a dream. but i think id like to believe it was an out of body experience because it seemed so real!

When I was 6 i was hit by lightning and knocked off a bicycle. While I was out I sort of floated around. I could sense things were below me but they were blurry. Then it was over and I was back. I attribute it (today) to the electrical discharge affecting my brain. I do remember that calm you speak of, but didn't see heaven or anything.
When we are kids, sometimes we do indeed vomit till we pass out from lack of oxygen. I would surmise in your case that the brain was in pre-shutdown. Hope that makes sense.

When you are nearing death (and when you sleep) your brain releases a chemical similar to the drug DMT. This is a powerful psychoactive drug which can create out of body experiences.
Many astronauts that black out during centrifugal training experience this. So yes, it was basically a dream.

NO, JUST WONDERING BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW SAID SHE HAD ONE. JUST BEFORE SHE GAVE MY GRANDSON 2ND & 3% BURNS. SHE SAID I JUST HAD AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE
