if you think you're smart enoough, chances are, you probably are. therefore, it's only to your advantage to take hard classes which you will do good in. instead of taking regualr classes and doing great in it. you learn more in a more difficult class and it prepares you for college ( i assume thats your next academic situation) and it prepares u for the real world in that, you'll be pressured to work under strenuous time constraints and accomplish hordes of work. these difficult classes do that to you.

when I was in high school I studied advanced math, took 2 years of university Russian, 1 year of university history and now I'm going to school to be an animator- go figure. I was an honnor student, but none of what I did in highschool is relavent to what I'm doing now. I don't think any of it was a waste of time because I enjoyed school and had fun in the courses I took.
Do what you enjoy, if your planing on a career in that field then it'll certanily benifit you, but if it's not something your interested in or want to persue, then don't take it.
