This requires a bit of prep time, but no cooking.
Put a jigger of creme de menthe liqueur in a blender with a pint of softened vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Blend thoroughly as if your intention is to make an adult milkshake.
Once smooth, pour the contents of the blender into three or four individual serving sized pudding molds, covering the molds with a bit of cling wrap and put in the freezer until firm.
When you want a sundae, take out one of the molds, let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes, then remove the cling wrap and turn it upside down onto a plate so that the ice cream slips nicely out of the mold onto the center of the plate.
Heat your hot fudge sauce in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds, then pour it around the ice cream mold at the base so it is all around the ice cream - but not on it. Sprinkle chopped nuts of your choice onto the ice cream and put a few dollops of whipped topping on the plate on the outside of the ring of hot fudge sauce. Place a single cherry or strawberry on top of the ice cream. Serve.
The reason you don't put the hot fudge sauce on the ice cream is so that each individual can have only as much or as little hot fudge as they want with their ice cream. Same thing with the whipped topping. And if you are talking while enjoying your sundae, you don't have to worry about the hot fudge melting your ice cream into a sloppy puddle while you talk. This allows the hot fudge to reamain warm for each and every bite of ice cream.
For delicious variations, you can put a bit of cake or brownie on the plate, then put the ice cream on top of it. Or use a bed of cherries or strawberries imder the ice cream - or omit the creme de menthe.
There are a whole heap of variations. See the links below to try them all.

Get a good grade of Vanilla ice Cream
By some frozen sliced strawberries (which contain sugar)
temper the strawberries slightly -so they can be poured out.
Just pour the strawberries over the ice cream scoops and maybe sprinkle some peanuts or nuts over .

Put vanilla ice cream in a bowl. Add your choice of topping, i.e. chocolate, butterscotch, hot fudge, mint sauce (they sell these in the store!). Add chopped nuts, sprinkles, fruit or whatever you prefer. Who needs a recipe to make a sundae?
You could put chocolate ice cream in a bowl and put marshmallow topping on it.
