Calories, but carbs are easily converted into calories. Calories are really just a measure of energy so metabolism is the rate at which your body uses energy.

Your metabolism is an abbreviated form or the term Basal Metabolic rate (BMR) which is the rate at which your body burns energy...in the form of calories. Calories come from the foods that we eat and are usually comprised of carbs, protein and/or fat. See the link below for more info. Hope that helped.

it burns fat, calories, and carbs but it depends on how high of a metabolism you have as of how much it will burn off
