I'm probably not the only one who's had this thought either. Dale Jr. hates Teresa, wants out. Teresa probably won't mind too-too much with him leaving. This is a fact, not an idle opinion.

OK, Harvick's old sponsor was GM Goodwrench (inherited from Sr.). He now carries Shell/Penzoil as a sponsor. Again, Fact.

Here is my thought for next season (God, this season is 1/36th over, and I'm already playing speculation games on NEXT year lol). Junior leaves DEI, heads to RCR, where he takes on GM Goodwrench as a sponsor, and seeing as how RCR still owns the rights to number 3, I predict that Junior will be rolling next year in a black GM Goodwrench Impala with a big white 3 on the sides.

Now, since this is Yahoo ANSWERS, I'll end with a question. What do you all think about it? Would you accept seeing Junior drive his Daddy's car? I for one would love it, but ONLY him, no one else. (And I'm a Mark Martin-Tony Stewart fan).

LOL Randy D. Thank you for calling my admission of being a Smoke fan a faux-pas. Made my night.

But I think that getting Teresa out of DEI will prove to be impossible. It IS her company (always was too, really), and Jr. just doesn't have the money or political capital to take it from her.

Well, you could've ended your "question" with a better admission than to admit you're a Tony Stewart fan, but, even in light of that faux-pas, I'd say the best thing is to get rid of Teresa, keep Jr. at DEI, and buy the rights to his dad's car from Goodwrench. I'm sure the public would support his efforts against Goodwrench, and, if the truth were known, many people would support finding a way for Teresa to "hit the road". God Bless you.

Somewhere along the line of Jr. assumption questions I saw someone say, and I agree with them, that Dale Sr. was a very good businessman and if he had wanted Jr. to have a majority stake in the company he would have set up his will that way. Jr. may know more about racing than Teresa but I am not yet convinced that he is that shrewd of a businessman. Teresa is probably better at handling the logistics of it all and more efficient at budgeting. Granted Jr. is the main attraction at DEI, or wherever he were to go, but I don't know that running the business end is even in his best interest. If he were to go to Childress I would have no problem with Jr driving the 3 car and this scenario seems the most likely. I also say that Bud would follow him along with Tony Eury Jr. Dale Jr is young and enjoys racing so much that I think he should just go have fun. Leave DEI and make his own way in the sport (Sr basically started DEI for Jr). He can own his very own team down the road and all the headaches that go with it. Ask Robby Gordon and Mikey how that is working out for them right now. Be careful what you ask for Jr, you just might get it.

There is a question like this already floating around here, but I answered it this way, Dale Sr. made a contract with Budweiser for Dale Jr. to be sponsored by them for life. There is NO way that Goodwrench could be the sponsor, if anything he would roll the red number 3 out with the Bud logo. I have read many articles on this and they have stated that this is the way that Dale Sr. made it for him. Im happy to know that Jr will in fact have a life long sponsor, but however not happy with the fact that Teresa is treating him the way she is. The name on the door starts with the letter D not T and she seems to forget that. I dont care what everyone else thinks, but hey, let him leave, without him, DEI is just a museum!

Well everything is right except the GM Goodwrench part, Jr. will bring Budwieser with him. They allready said they'll follow him wherever, and pretty sure Goodwrench is done except a couple races a year with the 29. Maybe they'll be a part-time with the 3 next year, but I dont think Budwieser likes to share.

Well apparently you are suffering from split personality issues...Those two couldn't be more different.
In regards to Jr...I am not a Jr fan,...but the only problem i would have is they already worship him too much on FOX...John Roberts(I'm not sure if he watches NASCAR)only stops repeating Jr for the occasional Happy Harvick...and I'd like to choke him every time he calls Mark the SENTIMENTAL favorite...last year was the first time Jr finished ahead of Mark in the standings.
Sorry...about the #3...it is the right thing to do...it may be the last piece of the puzzle to have Richard Childress guide him to become his best...everyone wins.Us nay sayers get to say "he ain't as good as his ol man"...and Jr makes more money than the Catholic church and tattoo artists and landscapers make a good buck too.
Personally,...I'd like to see Toy Yoda pay him 100 million to drive a #03 toyota and announce he and Smoke have gotten hitched in New Jersey...lol...I'm kidding people!!!

I made that assumption yesterday. I believe that is what it looks like. Budweiser has a contract still with DEI and the number 8 belongs to DEI so they can't transfer with Jr. without probably RCR having to buy it from them. It would be nice if he would race his dads number but only time will tell

Well, Teresa is NOT gonna bite the hand that feeds her...... if Jr. goes elsewhere....so will the sponsors.

Leave the #3 in the garage...... that belongs to Sr. It might be nice to see Jr. drive it a couple of times just to honor his dad, but some things need to be left alone. That number should really be retired....... Nobody will ever be able to fill his shoes. Jr's got his grand-dads number.......Ralph was one helluva racer, too!

I dont know if it will happen, but if it does, is going to make big, i mean BIG headlines...not only for the fact that he leaves dei and according to ur speculation the budweiser sponsor, but just the fact to see the #3 car rolling again....it would be out of this world

by the way...im also a mark martins fans..go #6... i mean #01

I think you are Totally Wrong.
I think Junior and his Step Mother will work everything out and he will stay. I don't feel he "hates" her, nor she hates him. I think she cares for Junior and his sister, she's been his Step Mother since Junior was just a very young boy. I watched a program last year, Theresa got up to speak, the camera was on Junior for a few minutes, Junior was looking at her with truly complete admiration.
You know maybe Theresa is like most Parents.
she may still see Junior as a kid and it may have just hit her that, hey he's not a kid anymore.
Of Course these are just the way I'm seeing it, which means nothing. hee hee

If Junior goes, so goes Budweiser. And he will never be in a car with the #3 on it. He has enough pressure being his father's namesake, having the same number as well might be a bit much. Plus I think that if NASCAR were to ever retire a number, it would probably be #3.

Cheers!

P.S. WAR TONY STEWART!
