Brush brush brush brush brush....you can't brush enough! Brushing the coat will bring up the natural oils in it and this will lesson the dander significantly. Be ware of too much bathing, as this can cause even worse problems.

I also feed a raw egg per feeding to get a glossy thick coat - and since I've done that I've had no dander problems with any of my dogs.

this i am sure will sound funny even nuts but i have done it and it works great.
get a leave blower an electric one or just a shop vac with the blower attachment . take the dog outside away from swimming pools and blow the hair off the dog. dont blow air in the dogs ear but the rest is fine. you will be shocked really shocked at how huge amount of hair comes off .
i have done this and i can cover a 60 foot by 30 foot lawn with hair and still managed to blow enough hair into the air to clog my neibhours pool filter.
the dog loves this and as long as you dont blow the air in her ears she will find this fun.

agree with sam hill. adding olive oil to food will give a shiny coat and lessen dander. works from the inside out.

If you didn't want dander, you shouldn't have gotten a shepherd! :-) You have to brush, a lot. I bought one of those "furminators" - you can find them at cherrybrook.com or other dog internet stores. Our PetsMart also carries them. Invest in the largest one.

These work wonderful on my shepherds, especially when they start their heavier seasonal shedding.
