Yes! Air, heat, light, and age affect the quality and the shelf life of olive oil, which deteriorates through oxidation (rancidity). The oxidation process is greatly enhanced when olive oil is stored in containers that are not air tight and in areas where it is exposed to heat and light.
In good conditions, you have 3 - 4 years.
(If your diet consists of burgers, coke and dogs, you probably couldn't tell the difference though)

Yes, all foods spoil. Olive oil will turn rancid eventually but it will take a long time in the refrigerator.

yes after a while it will, you will be able to tell it has spoiled by smelling it. It will have a acidic smell instead of a fresh clean smell you will also taste it in your food when you cook with it as your food will have an old oil taste.

Well, I don't know if it spoils, but the best one is the newest one. So no need to keep it for too long! I thought it did spoil, though.

yes, i believe it does. my grandmother has an ancient bottle at her house and you couldn't pay me to eat anything cooked with it.
