I recently tried Trout for the first time at a restaurant and loved it. I am buying some trout fillets Thursday. I am cooking them on the stove, and I have no idea how long it takes. The fillets look to be about a pound or less, so how long should I cook it for?? How do I know it's done? I do cook swordfish all the time on the stove and grill. Is it similar?
Thanks

The trout will cook much faster than swordfish. Dredge the trout in seasoned flour, put some butter or oil in a hot pan. Place trout flesh side down, shake pan to ensure its not sticking. Cook for about 3-4 minutes then flip it over. Cook an additional 3-4 minutes on the skin side, flip it back over and serve with your favorite sauce.

All fish is similar in terms of time.
Just cook and poke to see it done . Becomes flaky when cooked.
