I do believe 18 but you also can get a pre paid credit card at any age ( the only thing you have to put your own money on your card)

get your parents to add you as an authorized user. then wait 2 months and get a amex blue credit card (which is one of the best). the parents AU card will give you good credit history (make sure they have no late payments on that card btw)

You have to be 18 to get your own card that you are responsible for paying.
