Yes I believe they are seeking truth because they really know that deep down there is a God and they want to read our answers to try and find their way back to him.
To all you Atheists: What are you going to do when you find out at the end of the world that there really is a God? Ask for forgiveness? Do you think God will forgive you?

O thou seeker of Truth! The realm of the Kingdom is a unit. The only difference lies in this: That when the season of spring dawneth, a new and wonderful motion and rejuvenation is witnessed in all the existing things; the mountains and meadows are revived; the trees find freshness and delicacy and are clothed with radiant and bright leaves, blossoms and fruits. In a like manner the preceding Manifestations form an inseparable link with the subsequent dispensations; nay, rather they are identical with each other. Since the world is constantly developing itself, the rays become stronger, the outpouring becometh greater and the sun appeareth in the meridian orbit.
(Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith - Abdu'l-Baha Section, p. 380)
"Baha'u'llah exhorts men to free their minds from the superstitions of the past and to seek independently for truth putting aside all dogmas. Religions are one. Let us banish creeds that the reality may become unveiled. In which sacred book do you find this?
"He heralds the hour of unity which has dawned on all mankind. All are the children of one Father; all the inheritors of that future peace on earth. He admonishes men to banish prejudice; religious, patriotic, racial preconceptions must disappear, for they are the destroyers of human society. Where is this written? In which part of the Bible, Old or New Testament?
"Religion must be the cause of affection. It must be a joy-bringer. If it become the cause of difference, it were better to banish it. Should it become the source of hatred, or warfare, it were better that it should not exist. If a remedy produce added illness, it were far better to discard the remedy. A religion which does not conform with the postulates of science is merely superstition. In which sacred book do you find this thought? Tell me!

I think it's because, yes, most atheists are seeking the truth, although we can't just accept something blindly and so have spent a lot of time searching for other answers. At least, that's why I'm here. I can't speak for all atheists.

Yes, you do already know the answer to your own question.
God uses any and all means to get His Word across to unbelievers. They may come here to trash Christians, but God has other ideas. Praise The Holy Lamb Of God!!!!!
God Bless You....Peace.

I think a lot have statements to make; while others are honestly seeking. And there's nothing wrong with either of those. We can listen to the points that those that disagree want to make (just please be respectful is all that I ask) ;-) and answer the questions of those that are interested in the faith we have found.
Be blessed

All of the belligerent activity in this section of the forum constitutes efforts on the part of those who believe in nothing to convince more of us to join them. That, they feel, validates their own existence and provides a venue to rationalize their way of life. I applaud those who pay them no mind.
To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting. --EE Cummings
To those who insist on verbally fencing with the willfully ignorant, pay them no heed. Trust that first feeling that led you to hope, which hope comes of faith and makes an anchor to your soul.
In order for their lives to be vindicated, they must be right, in that there is no God. As for us, we win no matter what. Worst case scenario is that we're no worse off, but if we're right, all the blessings of obedience are ours. Why wouldn't people want to believe? They want opportunity without responsibility, reward without effort, blessings without sacrifice. Avoid them like the plague. If they want to know, they will come to you personally.

I know the truth. I don't come to the religion & spirituality section by itself. I go to the all questions page, and then questions addressing atheists specifically catch my attention.

No, the problem is that they're convinced that they already have it. Why "seek" for what's in your pocket? Yes, they should be seeking to find out whether that coin in their pocket is counterfeit, but how many of us do that with real coins? So don't be surprised that humans don't do that with metaphorical coins either.

I am seeking debate and enlightenment. The truth is unknowable therefore I do not seek it.

That is exactly what they are doing.
Aren't you glad?
Every seeming stupid question is being answered by many different inputs.
It is better than a professor teaching then. If one viewpoint doesn't get their attention there is another. Great HUH?
OLAY!
