I have to wake up 5:30 in the morning every day, but i have trouble getting myself to actually get out the bed. What are some ways to really jerk myself awake?

That light idea sounds good, if you could somehow rig your alarm up to your lights that'd work pretty good.
What I do is set my alarmclock ahead and put it on the other side of the room, that way I have to get out of bed to turn it off, and I think I'm late so I panic.

There are many, many ways. I used to BLAST my alarm clock radio! Then I got my body into a routine. I retired at right around the same time each evening; well; within :30 minutes or so and
then set the alarm to: in your case, go off at 5:30 a.m. I ended up waking up before the alarm even went off! There is another rather important thing that I do and find "eye - opening"
each morning. I awake and immediately say: "Good morning dear Jesus, may everything I say and everything I do, be a reflection of my love for you"! This gets my motor running, as well! I hope that this assists you in your quest. Everyone has there own rituals, but, a routine for your personal being is the best and most assured way. Good luck in all you do.

Do you use an alarm clock? - Don't put it next to your bed, put it across the room so you have to get up to turn it off - then don't get back in bed! Take a shower in the morning, even if you took it the night before. It will take you up and you will feel refreshed! Have a banana! It is a natural source of energy. Have it with milk or water. Eating and drinking first thing in the morning helps you start the day - but keep it healthy!

I don't use an alarm clock, my mom calls from downstairs to wake me. I try to remember that even though I'm tired, I know the longer I'm up, the more awake I'll be and that the extreme feeling of tiredness will go away. Then I turn on the lamp above my head, turn on the radio and get dressed! So light and music help me!

The best way to wake your brain up is to turn the lights on. Have a lamp by your bed and when your alarm goes off turn it on. This automatically wakes the brain up without using things like caffeine.

Well literally what you said... like leap out of bed. Like lift up off your back as fast as you can or... get some music you really don't like [or like if you like it better that way] and get up really fast.

It'll be somewhat exhausting but you'll get used to it but remember get a good nights sleep [try to even get in bed early] sometimes you dont even feel tired at all!

I think the best way to wake yourself up is drink lots of water before you go to bed at around 11 to 12 pm. You will need to go to toilet around that time ie 5am or slightly later. You got to go means you got to go otherwise you will wet the bed.
