My son asked me to read him a fairytale the other day, so I read him the bible?
Should I have made him sit through that ?
I think I should just stick to the classics next time.

If you understood what you were reading, and explained it to him as you read along, then it might have been more enjoyable for your son. And it probably depends a lot on what part of the Bible you are reading to him. Maybe he isn't interested in the wars and conquests of the ancient kings, but he might be thrilled to hear a real fairy tail about how Jesus came and saved everybody. Then again, he might be turned off by religion completely, and just wants to hear about how Winney the Pooh got lost.

Regards,

Chris

you just read him the whole truth and nothing but the truth- you did not do what he asked because the Bible is not a fairytale, it is truth. Continue to read it him, and I pray you start believing it.

How can you read to your son, what you yourself do not understand? Owning a Bible will not make you righteous before Holy God. Reading it and doing and believing what it says, is pleasing to God. I hope you wise up before your son has to spend eternity in hell because you were too lazy or indifferent to teach him Gods plan of salvation. You may not care about what happens to you, but certainly you should care about what happens to your child. Check it out and research this topic, for his sake.
God Bless You....Peace.

If he asks for a fairytail do not read the Bilble to him or he might think it is not real, but a fairytail. So just "stick to the classics".

That is the most horrible faerie tale you could have picked. You really should stick to Snow White.

That was mean. Next time, read him something a little lighter, like "Silence of the Lambs."

I brought my children up on Bible stories. One year I drew them out with stick men (I really can't draw). They loved it.
However I wish you hadn't read it to him as if it were a fairy tale.
