Why wouldn't I? if the awesome power of mind can create everything virtually from imagination and belief why would this sound heretic?

They make as much and as little sense as angels, demons, and ghosts.
Besides, if the creationists can find dinosaurs in the bible by redefining words, you should be able to come up with words in the bible that might have referred to the enchanted people.

No more than in U.F.O.'s or ghosts. They are in the same category: apparently real but actually manifestations of trans-dimensional beings dedicated to deceiving us humans into ignoring God and killing each other so they can take over the planet (after doing their dirty work for them.)

No, I live in the wilderness, and I've never seen 'em. True, your mind can 'create' anything from imagination, but that doesn't make it actual.

My husband always plays a gnome in D&D... he believes in their AC bonuses against creatures of a medium or greater size.

Well, it your choice. If you believe in fairies, gnome and etc. then test to see how it works out. I tested Christianity in my life and it worked out fine. Cheers.
