Did you talked with your psychiatrist about these feelings? The way your question is stated sounds as though you're not having these feelings any longer.
As a therapist, I really don't know the answer to this. It actually has more to do with psychopharmacology.
I DO know that with many people, Prozac can cause some feelings of anxiety when first begun. I had that experience with it,, but those feelings went away rather quickly.
It could be the same with you, that feelings of anxiety were present when you first began taking the medication, and that anxiety caused your feelings of fear.
If you are still having these feelings, you probably need to change to a different antidepressant, which, of course, you would need to discuss with your psychiatrist.
I hope you're feeling better now, and best of luck to you!

When you first start any medication there are differnt side effects. Which fear of death sound more anxiety related. As long as it's going away I wouldn't worry. All anti depressants take approx 3 months for your body to adapt. If things get worse definatley let the people around you know and if someone says you've been acting differnt (listen to them) somethime being on meds like that you do not see yourself how others see you.

It could be a side effect from the prozac, sometimes medication reverses the thoughts in ur mind so u think the opposite.
U should talk to ur doctor anyway just to be safe.

Prozac for one is a problem. Your doctor should have prescribed something a bit more mild. You really don't want to be on Prozac (from experience).

Um... taking drugs and having thoughts about death, fears of dying and feeling that something terrible will happen is not normal on drugs or off drugs.
Drugs mess with your head and artificially change your brain, neurotransmitters and thought process.
