I've recently met a guy 2 weeks ago. We've one date and it went well. So far the 1st impressions have been positive so I'd love to proceed and see where this is going.

I'm old fashioned and don't believe in pursuing guys. So far we've talked a couple times on the phone. Good conversations. After that, I've only been getting "test messages". Btw, I'm in my 30s and the whole text message thing is very new to me. I don't text message. The guy's sent short messages, eg "happy vday", "how's your day".

I have texted back w/ short answers. I thought dating's about talking on the phone and going out on dates... so what's with the text message thing?! HELP!

Based on your 500 texts messages per month, you are on the $10 a month plan which means you get 500 text/pix/flix/IM's to anyone on any network and unlimited "IN" texting to Verizon customers. For the Verizon network "IN" means Verizon to Verizon. So your texting plan has "IN" capabilities (I have a $5 a month plan and there is no "IN" only 250 to all.) And as far as you calls go, you have "IN" calling which use to be called mobile to mobile (or as you wrote, Verizon to Verizon) and yes this is free. Now you didn't ask, but you do have unlimited "Nights & Weekends" which means you can call (this does not including texting) anyone on any network free starting at 9:01pm to 5:59am Monday through Friday and starting at 9:01pm on Friday all the way through to 5:59am on Monday. Hope this helps!

Some guys use text messaging alot nowadays. Try giving him a call and talk to him. Tell him you don't like to text message. I don't really like text messaging either. I'd rather talk to the person on the phone.

it's a thing now and is texting is to phoning as phoning is to being in person.
if you don't want to text but would rather talk just say so. then again maybe he is distancing things. communication is the only way to know and text just wont do it

Well if that how you feel about it than dont even bother to waste your time on it . Do what you feel comfortable doing. go with what you know. Also tell the guy you are dating you`re not that kind of texting girl.

It sounds like this guy doesn't want to date you, to be honest. If he did he would probably call. I would call him and ask what's going on and tell him you don't do the texting thing.

Maybe he is trying to start with small talk. Keep texting, it gets interesting
