Cranberry supplement pills, they are stronger than drinking cranberry juice and can be purchased at any drug store on the vitamin/supplement aisle.

Alka-Seltzer works amazing too, even if it doesn't say anything about it on the box, it really does.

Drink water, and lots of it (just not too much lol)

Just be sure to stay away from foods/drinks that are high in sugar, the bacteria that causes a UTI feeds on sugar. Also, avoid any alcoholic beverages as this will only irritate your urinary track and make the infection worse.

Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer specialist came out with a paper that said the best cancer/infection fighter found to date was Interferon. At the time it was $15,000 a gram. The paper also said that Interferon was a by-product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your body. Shortly after that the FDA tried to make Vitamin C by prescription only. Guess why? The FDA has the RDA for Vitamin C set at 64 mg a day, just enough to ward off scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vitamin C and a second Nobel Prize for Organic Chemistry, said that 1000 mg a day should be the minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick or smoke. He played tennis almost daily until the day he died at 96. Personally, I got sick twice a year for 2 weeks at a time, for more than 20 years, with something to this day the doctors have no idea what it was, but for a week in the middle of those 2 weeks I was flat on my back. I started Vitamin C therapy once I gave up on the doctors. I took enough to be asymptomatic for those 2 weeks. Too much and I got diarrhea and too little and I got sick. Within a narrow range, and it followed a bell curve over those 2 weeks, I was not sick. At the height I was taking 40,000 mg a day and 300,000 over the 2 weeks. After 2 years of that I have not been sick since – more than 15 years. Vitamin C acts as a natural diuretic so you need to drink a lot of water and watch your body in total, but my kidneys did not dissolve as the doctors predicted, or get massive kidney stones as other predicted. I did not dissolve my bones as some predicted or completely calcify my joints as others predicted. I had no side effects at all. It might be something to consider.

either take cranberry tablets or drink unsweetened cranberry juice. (i prefer the tablets because i don't like the taste). drink plenty of water or other low sugar fluids. avoid sex and sugary drinks. i highly recommend getting AZO Standard or something to that equivalent. it will help with the pain, burning and urgency until you get the UTI flushed out of your system. (if you are looking for a generic brand, the active ingredient is phenazopyridine hydrochloride) best of luck. this works for me and i hope it will work for you. if it does not, you really need to seek professional help to avoid any spread of infection. the cost for a doc's visit is less than a hospital stay.

Drinking plenty of water dilutes your urine and may help flush out bacteria. Avoid coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks containing citrus juices and caffeine until your infection has cleared. They can irritate your bladder and tend to aggravate your frequent or urgent need to urinate.

But you really need to be on an antibiotic. Especially if its a bad one.

Is there a clinic near you anywhere that offers a sliding pay scale based on what you make and how you can afford to pay?

And I don't know about all doctors, but I think most will give you samples of the medicine you need if you explain to them you have no insurance to purchase meds.

don't just buy any cranberry juice, because many are diluted with water and apple juice, and the sugar makes it worse. I bought "Mountain Sun" last week for my UTI. It was expensive, but it was sugerless and concentrated, so I had to dilute it 1:3 with water to taste, so it lasted much longer, and the cost was equivalent to regular juice after doing that. But it worked!

Hunny, there are no home remedies for infection. If you continue to let the infection run wild through your body, it will land you in the hospital and it can even kill you. Remember: People used to die from simple infections because anti-biotics had not been invented yet.

I suggest going to the emergency room and they HAVE to treat you, whether you have insurance or not. Then just make monthly payments to them. 10 dollars a month will pay them back eventually. (i do that)

I am not going to tell you to drink cranberry juice, because it DON'T work! Trust me, I KNOW!

I had a SEVERE kidney infection a few years ago(and i have no insurance), and I tried fighting at home by drinking lots of water and cranberry juice and it didn't work and I still had to go to the emergency room and get an i.v. drip of anti-biotics.

Please go get yourself taken care of before it gets worse and worse!!!! Go get the antibiotics, NOW, hunny!!!

GET WELL SOON!

UTI - Urinary Tract Infection is a bladder infection. It burns when you pee.It hurts sometimes too.It can cause back pain and stomach pain and sometimes cause you to bleed.

Treat UTI Using Antibiotics

Typically prescribed by your doctor, you need to be aware of some concerns when taking antibiotics. These include: In addition to killing the UTI bacteria, they also kill off friendly bacteria, possibly causing unwanted side-effects such as; diarrhea, constipation, nausea and yeast infections. With repeated use of antibiotics your body can develop a resistance, potentially making the bacteria immune to the antibiotics. Read on for treatment options!

Treat UTI Using Cranberry Juice or Extract

A natural UTI solution, cranberry juice or extract, has been used for many years to prevent UTI and treat UTI. While it does help, recent clinical studies have shown another - all natural - substance to be much more effective in treating UTI. The more effective UTI treatment is D-Mannose (read more below).

Treat UTI Using D-Mannose

All natural and completely safe, D-Mannose will treat UTI in a manner similar to cranberry juice, only treat it 10-50 times more effectively. D-Mannose, when ingested, goes directly to the urinary system and coats the inside walls, preventing bacteria from sticking. The bacteria can then be flushed out with normal urination. Treat urinary tract infections with UTI Slip D-Mannose.

MOST IMPORTANT IS YOU SHOULD TAKE LOT OF WATER OR OTHER FLUIDS-

Try buying a med sold over the counter called "uristat" which is the same thing doctors will prescribe. It will make your urine turn a bright orange color as it exits your body though so don't be alarmed. Also, drink lots of cranberry juice or cranberry tablets. If it's not better in a couple of days, please get to a doctor because if that's the case, you may need antibiotics to get rid of it. If it's not taken care of, it will get worse and could go to your kidneys.
Also, don't drink any caffeine. Hope you feel better

DRINK WATER TIL you feel like you will pop. this will help to flush the bacteria from your urethra, bladder.
Cranberry juice is also a good fluid to drink.
If you have any bleeding or lower back pain, or run a fever, you need to go to the doc and get some antibiotics.
