It's easier to say "God did it" than to explain the complicated processes of evolution and Natural Selection.
So yes, it is the easy way out. It is the 'gap filler' for when we find a scientific mystery, it's easier to say God than to try and search for the real answer.

science is based on facts.
religion is based on belief.
Ne'er the two shall meet in polite conversation. What you think or believe in the privacy of your own home is your business.. I mean really, one could easily believe that gnomes are responsible for "everything" as we know it.... "whatever" is what I say, lol!
