The science of fat loss is it takes 3500 calories to lose (or gain) a pound. To lose 4 pounds of fat you would have to give up 14,000 calories in the time between now and weigh in. The average girl eats about 2000 calories per day. So, you would have to eat nothing for seven days to lose that weight (mathematically speaking if you did no exercise). What you may consider is dropping the weight, temporarily, in water for the weigh in, but accepting that you will gain it all back once you replenish your fluids.

Boxers and mixed martial artists do this all the time to "cut weight" before the weigh in. They sit/exercise in a sauna in a rubber suit and sweat all the water out of their system until they get to the desired weight. I've heard interviews with guys saying they lost 20 pounds overnight. That's a little extreme, but they are professional athletes under medical supervision. I wouldn't suggest doing something so drastic. Talk to your doctor or coach about using this method. Look online, too.

You won't feel your best from the time you lose the water until you rehydrate, but your weight will go down. The professional athletes do this the day of the weigh-in. I've seen them walk out of the sauna and go to the scale to give you an idea of timing.

There are a lot of good answers in here for nutrition and exercise to burn the weight, so I would incorporate an aggressive plan for calorie control and burning, too. Obviously, diet and exercise is a better solution to your problem, but given your time frame, this might help.

Stay away from the Hollywood Miracle Diet stuff, too. That just tears your insides up, pulls all the moisture out of your body and sends it through your digestive track. Usually out your back side at inopportune moments (not that there's ever a good time to dookie in your pants). Unless you're trying to get out of an algebra test. Then it's the exact right time.

Good luck with whatever method you use.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Don't listen to some of these dodo birds. You need sugar in your system. But I wouldn't recommend losing 4. Try 2 or 2.5

You can't lose four pounds by Monday. I recommend wearing super-light clothes (feather weight shorts and a tank top) and flip flops (the lightest shoes). Cut your hair if it's heavy. Try to rig up the scale so it weighs people lighter. i'm out of ideas for you.

Well lets see, you have about 5 days.
I'll give you some tips
- Dont eat a bite of sugar. Nothing.
- Stick with veggies ONLY (try to avoid fruit if its possible but a little citrus wouldn't hurt that much)
- No Bread
- The only beverage that should go into your system should be water.
- If you have to have meat, do FISH only (shrimp works well._

And to excercise
- Jog at least one mile everyday
- 50 pushups
- 50 crunches
-DONT FORGET TO STRETCH!!

-good luck!!!
