So I made porkchops. I think they were porkchops. Anyway, they were peices of pork. I put them in the pan, sprinkled some seasoning on them, and put them in the oven (350 degrees, 45 minutes)

When I took it out, there was all this water in the pan that definately was not there before. It tastes fine.

So, what happened? Why is my pork all wet?

In addition to the juices that are already in the meat, many meat packing companies add liquid to pork. Read the label - you might see something like "up to 20% added liquid by weight"

This is especially common in pork, as pork tends to be dry due to its low fat content.

Most of that is excess fat rendered from the pork. Water evaporates @ 212 degrees, so only a little was juice and blood from the meat since you said you were cookin @ 350 degrees. You can strain and use the drippings for an au jus or gravy.

Don' worry though is perfectly natural...

When pork is cooked the juices will run clear dont worry you may have over cooked it slightly, most poultry will do that. Chef John

It could be the juices of the pork chop but I'm not sure because that has never happen to mine.

that wet stuff is water, fat and blood from the pork. i wouldn't eat that greesy sauce. just doesn't look healthy to me, but don't worry your pork is fine :D

thats all the juices coming out of the meat, kinda like when you make roast. you can take that juice and make gravy or a sauce.
